When you are Designing a Bespoke Wall Unit or having someone design one for you be sure to think about all the effecting factors and make sure it will be able to serve the exact purpose you need it to.
The great thing about having a bespoke built wall unit is that it is designed to fit exactly in the space you have available and it will function exactly as you want it to.
As with any Bespoke Furniture it is mainly down to the purpose you want it to serve that effects the final product design.
Designing Wall Units
You first need to think about what purpose the wall unit will be serving as this will determine a lot when it comes to the final design. For example if the wall unit were to be used in a child's room to store toys it would have very different specifications to that of a Display Cabinet.
There are many different uses for wall units for example some will be used purely as storage where as others will be used to display items of importance or value such as expensive ornaments or trophies.
With wall units that are to be used for storage you would want to have a Space Efficient Design with as much usable space as possible where as with a display cabinet you may want to have a Minimalist Style.
Choosing Materials
When it comes to the choice of materials used to make wall units it can vary greatly depending on what the purpose of the unit is. This is because if it is to be used as a storage space in a child's room for toys etc. you could use a material such as Pine because its durable, easy to work with and fairly inexpensive to buy.
The material the wall units are made of depends entirely on what kind of look you are after. For example one made of wood would have a more traditional look than one made of glass and metal. Then for the high class units there are expensive woods such as Teak and Walnut and also the glass and metal combinations.
The woods tend to be slightly more expensive than the glass combinations but it is mainly up to personal preference as to which would look best in your room.
